Masjid Pathok Negara Sulthoni Plosokuning lies about nine kilometer from the palace of Yogyakarta. It stands on the Sultan ground around 2.500 meter square. Among other pathok negara mosques, it is the most reserved one until now.
It was build after the great mosque (Masjid Agung) finished. So that, its building looks alike with the great mosque such as mihrob, kentongan and bedug.
Masjid Plosokuning is different from the great mosque from its roof, while ita has two lroof level, and the great mosque has three roof level. It means that Masjid Plosokuning is lower than the great mosque in hierarchy.
In front of the mosque, there are two three meters pools, that one who wants to go inside must must wash him or her self first.
In the year of 2000, it was renovated on its four main pillars and other elemens. Later on 2001, it was renovated again by the government. On the same year, the people also built the mosque such as change the floor in ceramic, the yard floor and sound system.
In certain occasion, it also used by the royal family to do religious ceremony such Bukhorenan that until nowdays it still become the tradition. The goal of the ceremony is to learn the theory of Prophe Muhammad and his hadist on Sahih Bukhari.
