ViaVia Cafe & Gallery was established as a project on cultural and sustainable tourism. ViaVia travel organizes alternative tours and courses in Jogjakarta and its surroundings. The restaurant combines tradition and modernity. The taste of the traditional can be found in its menu like lodeh, gado-gado, fried tempe, fried cassava and the daily changing Indonesian dishes. While the feel of modernity is obtained from its various dishes from the world kitchen like salads, spaghetti ViaVia, Indian curry, and many others.

That's not all. The restaurant-cafe which is situated on Jalan Prawirotaman also functions as an art space for young  Indonesian contemporary artists.

On the second floor, the visitors are able to enjoy their dinner in a private and romantic open air setting. Every friday night is jazz night with a live band.

This 8x12 meter square restaurant is one of 13 other ViaVia’s spread allover the world, all with the same philosophy of being a meeting place for locals and travelers in the light of respect and real cross-cultural contact.
