Universitas Proklamasi 45 Yogyakarta (UP 45) was established on Agustus 17, 1964 as a "Monumen Aktif Eksponen dan Pejuang Angkatan 45" which aims to maintain soul, spirit, and values of 1945's Independence, based on Pancasila and UUD 45.

Vision and mission of the education are directed to realize person with faith in God, kind-hearted, having and mastering science and technology, personality and self independent, and also having dedication and responsibility to the nation and country.

With lectures from S-2, S-3, and Professors, UP 45 Yogyakarta has been producing graduates of S-1 who work in various goverment and private institutions, and or in private sectors. UP 45 has five Faculties and six Program of Study with Lab. of Computer, Lab. of Engineering, Lab. of Psychology, and Pusat Konsultasi dan Bantuan Hukum.
