Yudiaryani, a female artist who was famous in the theater performance, was never dreamt of her recent job as artist. Graduated from senior high, she who was born in Jakarta, June 30th 1956 continued her study at Universitas Gajah Mada (UGM) Faculty of French Letters. Since she made a thesis on theater, she was offerred to be a lecturer at ISI Yogyakarta Jurusan Teater, Fakultas Seni Pertunjukan. After graduated of Strata 1 then she took a master of art degree (S2) at Theatre and Film Studies, University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney, Australia. Then she took doctoral program at UGM.

Her knowledge about theater was learned self-taught when she was a college student of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya. Intensively she studied art of theater when she taught at Jurusan Teater ISI Yogyakarta. Additional knowledge of theater she got in Australia for her master degree. She recently became a director and actress of modern theater Indonesia. She was active also managing several journals such as a secreatry at Jurnal Ekspresi ISI Yogyakarta or as a creative director of Jurnal APA Pusat Studi Wanita ISI Yogyakarta.

Yudiaryani had never received any art awards from her activities. However she did not need any awards since the most important thing for an artist was to make commitment and dedication to his or her subject of art. Awards from the society expected was only to enjoy her performance, to invite her as instructor, jury, and speakers in seminars.
