Agus Suwage was born in Purworejo, on April 14th, 1959. Now he lives in Jl. Tirtodipuran MJ III/1137 Yogyakarta. His art education is from Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain ITB Bandung (1979-1986), Jurusan Desain Grafis. He was once to be a guest artist at QUIT Brisbane Australia and Sai-no-kuni Saitama Japan.

Most of his artworks, Suwage surfs more on borderlessness: between himself and others, between human and other creatures, between complexity and simplicity, between the usual and the extra ordinary, between neutral and paradoxal ... and since a while, he has left communal ideological messages (artworks of political ideas) in his artworks since he always feels that he was bored-some.
