Agung Gunawan was born at Gunung Kidul, march 20th 1976, and he began his carier on art from educational institution at Fakultas Seni RUpa, Jurusan Seni Murni ISI Yogyakarta during 1996 until 2003. Agung became a painter and also a sculpture artist, and a bussinessman in art and handicraft.

Agung had been joining in several exhibition such as Pratita Adhi Karya 1996 at SMSR, Pameran FKY X at Vredenburg 1998, Pameran FKI I at Vredenburg 1998, an exhibition at Bizet Gallery Jakarta 1999.

His humanity mission is to try to awaken himself and other people toward the life cycle to the core of humanity and also to point humanity to personal and communal situation. Besides Agung also argues that art must be directed, returned, or improved into several districts with many stakeholder's support in order to make art and culture achieving their individual original characteristics level of artist who brings local borrowings, until all districts could be a legal standard of art nationally or internationally.

Agung Gunawan was elected member of Dewan Kesenian Gunung Kidul 1998 as Sculpture Division.
