His original name is Agus Prasetyo; born in Yogyakarta, August 12 1960. In the beginning he was not his intention to join the world of theater, however Agus is now one of the lecturers of ISI Yogyakarta. He had been learning art of theater since 1979, and his first group he joined with was Teater Anyar. Since then his career in acting improved. From Teater Anyar, he joined in Teater Muslim, Teater Aksara, Anggar Aksara, Teater Gandrik and Kethoprak Lesung

He studied at SMEP (Sekolah Menengah Ekonomi Pertama) Piri, also at Sekolah Teknik Menengah (STM) Piri but finally he chose to study at SMSR (Sekolah Menengah Seni Rupa) Yogyakarta in 1982. In that era, Agus learned a lot about acting from his friends.

Graduated from SMSR, Agus studied art of acting at ISI Jurusan Seni Teater. He completed his study in 1991. Now Agus is working on his Master in the same institution.
Agus Ley Loor also writes some theater scripts. Some of them are as follows: "Jakarta 1998", "Makam Tak Bertuan, Tuan Tak Bermakam" (Antologi Naskah Drama), and "Ndlanggentak". He was once an art director for several soap opera such as "Badai Pasti Berlalu" (2001) and "Mentari Di Sisi Rimba".
