Since 1988,Cemeti Art House has been exhibiting and communicating the works of both Indonesian and foreign contemporary artists. At least eleven exhibition projects have been organised each year, including solo exhibitions, group exhibitions with performances, site specific and happening art, discussions, slide presentations, and artists talks.
The Cemeti Art House building was designed in 1999 by the gifted architect, Eko Agus Prawoto. Local-global, traditional-modern, art-non art, individual-collective, natural-manmade, craft-industry, conventional-innovative are the paradoxes reflected in its architectural construction, inspired by the quest of Cemeti Gallery.
Artists who have consigned their works at Cemeti Art House are Anusapati, Agung Kurniawan, S.Teddy D., Tri Wahyudi (Popok), Yamyuli Dwi Iman, Hanura Hosea, Hedi Hariyanto, Yenny Yanuar Ernawati, Yani Halim, Tisna Sanjaya, Asmudjo Jono Irianto, Moelyono, Agus Suwage, EddiE haRA, I GAK Murniasih, Ruud Venekamp, Edo Pop, AS Kurnia, Munadi, Hafiz, Munadi, Mella Jaarsma, FX Harsono, Paul Kleman, Moritz Ebinger, Shigeyo Kobayashi and others.
