One of traditional arts in District of Bantul, which grows during the harvest or crop season, is Gejlog Lesung. This common people's art derives from the sound of "alu" (stick with large size) which is hit continously to a giant wood shaped like a boat, called lesung. Lesung in general is made of wood of jackfruit or munggur.
In the past, villagers usually used lesung to separate paddy from the stick. Dried paddy is put in the lesung, and then beaten rhythmically. In the modern era, cleansing paddy with the lesung has been left behind since it produces very little.
Now lesung is well maintained as a traditional art. The sound alu beaten onto the lesung rhythmically, shows the art. The person beating lesung are five to six persons. To create a variation, the sound of lesung is mixed with folk songs sung by the group. There is a group of person, who sings or dances and sometime they turn their body attractively, as if they danced accompanied by the gamelan.

Suara burung, daun-daun kena angin, rasanya sejuk sekali.Kalo aku lagi liburan sekolah, aku paling tak mau meninggalkan keramahan ...
