This ceremony aims at requesting the welfare for the child. The set of offerings would cover two kinds of family. For noble family: tumpeng robyong, tumpeng gundul, tumpeng songgobuwono, tumpeng kencono, and jenang (porridge) baro-baro.

For common people: nasi gurih, ingkung, nasi golong with its side dishes, red and white porridge (jenang), baro-baro porridge, and jajan pasar (various snacks usually available at traditional market), nasi ambengan, and kembang telon (a set of blossom consists of 3 flowers, rose, jasmine, and kenanga (cananga).

Tetesan is performed in the evening and is attended by the girl to be initiated, father and mother, relatives, and close neighbors. The ceremony is started with the girl taking bath using air kembang setaman (fresh water with fragrant flowers) before the initiation process.
