Kain Bangun Tulak is also known as "Kain Bango Tulak". These kind of clothes have an ancient motive, which, according to local beliefs, has magical power to avoid any evil power.

The color of the clothes are dominated with blue with a white dot in the middle. These clothes are put on the "jodhangan" covering various of food in the jodhangan. Kain Bangun Tolak symbolizes avoidance of evil power, blue refers to the Earth, and white refers to the Sky.

The word sky is related to Heaven which is the final destination of human kind. If someone wants to reach Heaven, then he or she must throw away or refuse any evil power on Earth. The after life in Heaven is peacefull and full of happiness.

The motive of the clothes or combination of color on the clothes is usually applied to the uniform of "Wayang Wong" from Yogyakarta, also used as "rampek motive" for "para punakawan" particularly. The color combination derives from dark blue, black and white.
